Dear Sandy,

The only thing I can think of, along with everyone else, is you saw a well-developed supernumary or maybe even two or three inside that of the primary.

I have seen a total of three supernumary arcs in one or two rainbow displays recently (one with an incomplete interference arc/arcs) and only yesterday I saw four different bows (two with one arc and the other had two). Once again yesterday I had the odd sighting of seeing a secondary bow all by it's little self! Sun not high enough for Primary. I think once I saw an interference in a secondary but couldn't be sure.

Not very scientific! :)

I tend to see broader supernumary arcs when the primary bow is low in the sky. I could be wrong, though (although the 3 interference arc was high). Would like to hear someone else's opinion on this.

Regards

Kevin

PS Another showery day, possibly more bows!
