Siquijor was a sunny place. It was a small island, one could in a one day walk
to any place there. Half of the island was deserted by logging which explained
the always sunny skies. So I was in a exellent place to check out Philippines
halos. I've been in many other places in Philippines and there is a lot of variation in a low cloud formation. Worst are the towns in a mountains - it
seems like it is always raining and cloudy there. Land formation and vegetation plays big role in a low cloud formation in Philippines

In Siquijor there was often a very faint 22 halo in blue sky. The clouds were
very thin, barely visible. It seemed to me that these clouds did not come from
anywhere - they just developed just right there. And they always appeared afted midday to the clear sky. No connection to cumulonimbus could be seen.
I've been wondering the mechanism for the developement of these thin high clouds. Maybe it is after all the some distant cumulonimbus that make these
clouds, the humidity somehow travels a long distance. My account is not that
detailed, but perhaps somebody could have some comments on this.
