   I can't say very much about that, but there some cloud types,    in which iridescence appear more often. Altocumulus is, I    think, the most common iridescent cloud type. Also in the edges    of cumulus and cumulonimbus are seen colours.

   The iridescence need uniformly sized water droplets in some    part of cloud. If the droplets have different size and the    diameter varies a lot, no iridescent clouds are seen.

   Few years ago there were an article "All about iridescence" in    Weatherwise magazine. It was not "all about topic", but gave    several information on these clouds.
