Jarmo,

Thanks for the info I had a feeling that it would be a 9d tangent arc, its was very sharp and well defined. I recorded it on the back side of my b-form paper. The other halos I saw were 18 degree halo and parhelia 23 degree halo with a well developed upper parhelion which had a clear gap between the parhelion and halo. I would of gotten a photo but my camera was full and was locked in the truck. What I need to do is save up some more money which I am doing because I want to get a digital that can take a fisheye lens and memory cards that have more than 4mb which is what mine has on it. BUT there is always a next time. What is strange is that last year I did not see much odd radius halos last year but this year I am being bombarded by them. Veikko told me that you got some super odd radius halos with all six odd radii rings and other exotic pyramidal arcs, If I were with you that day in Finland I would have filled the memory card in my Kodak digital at least several times!! May 7th was a good one for me.

PS: Did you hear about the fires in Colorado and Arizona? A c-130 plane in Colorado crashed while dumping fire retardant killing all three people on board when the wings snapped off and the plane fell to the ground like a rock and burst into a fireball. Also another suicide bombing in isreal. Thats it for the news.

PS again: I wish I had some of your odd radius halo skies.

Best,
Michael
