     Thanks for the additional notes differentiating the "opposition effect" from "heiligenschein", which I thought were the same.

     Do I presume from your description that the fact that when the fogbow is visible so is the glory, meaning the water droplets involved have a fair range in sizes? (I have nice photos showing a fogbow with a brightly colored corona around the shadow of my head.)
