Sky & Telescope -lehden verkkouutiset kertoivat Maan läheltä kulkevasta
pikkuplaneetasta 2002 NY40. Se on kirkkaimmillaan elokuun 18. päivänä.
Kirkkainnaolohetki sattuu meillä keskelle päivää. Edellisenä ja seuraavana
iltana se näkynee meilläkin. The Astronomer -lehden sähköinen sirkulaari
no 1788, joka oli päivätty 23.7.2002 klo 09.01 UT, antaa pikkuplaneetalle
alempana olevat rataelementit sekä efemeriidit.

J. Piscitelli report their detection of a fast-moving object using
the 1.0-m f/2.15 reflector + CCD at Lincoln Laboratory ETS, New
Mexico (station 704):
