The morning was fully covered in clouds in the city of Tampere. There seemed to be little hope of seeing the partial eclipse there, so we packed ourselves to car and headed for clearer views.
The southern Finland seemed to be mostly free of clouds. Just before the deepest partiality we stopped to watch the eclipse in a nice and idyllic field near Loimaa.

One of the traditional things to do during a partial eclipse phase is playing with the little solar pacmans formed by all the little holes in the area. We got the best pacmans with our hats' hole-filled edges.

We teached our kid to use the welder's glas to watch the Sun. He easily spotted that a piece of the surface seemed to be missing.

This form of photo-trickery became our tradition and label during the total eclipse of 2002.
The landscape is a reflection from the surface of the welder's glas. The picture of the Sun comes _through_ the same glas. So this picture was not created in post-processing.

We've noticed that sometimes we are lucky when in comes to atmospheric phenomena during solar eclipses. This was again the case, since a nearby thunder clouds icy edges formed a 22-degree halo ovet the last minutes of the partial eclipse. This image was contrast enhanced in post-processing.
