Hi Jan,

        It does sound like upper tangent arcs - was the point of the 'V' at
about
22 degrees from the sun - about the same angle away as the sundog was? I suspect it probably was.

I've learned a lot about halos there. There is a program available to download (for free)
at that site which simulates halos. It's pretty cool.

above the sun, about the form of a V. I never sw such a halo before (but I only recently started looking for halo's). I think it was a upper tangent arc. Is this possible?

About an hour earlier, I saw one sundog, on the right side of the sun.
