Dear friends,
some days ago I found several reprints of single-leaf woodcuts, showing halo displays. 22 of these woodcuts with halos from 1551-1645 are available on our homepage. All displays were seen in Germany. http://members.tripod.com/~parhelia/halo/halo1.htm

Remarkable is a woodcut of Wegeners arc seen in Hamburg on 23 July 1589.

Do you know halo drawings before the year 1551? I heard about halo drawings from the Bronze Age. Is this true? If you live in Europe you may find similar reprints of woodcuts in your library. Please write me an e-mai if you have success.

Regards,
