Last night we could observe a quite impressive NLC display over the illuminated city of Chemnitz/Germany (51 deg N, 12 deg E). Starting our observation at around 21:00 UT we first saw bright NLC spread over the whole NW/NE sky up to a hight of about 5 deg. There were several distinct arcs and waves visible, that developed rapidly. At the beginning they overspan an area of about 45 degrees at the horizon. Later the display became smaller and fainter with the western border of the clouds staying almost constant, whereas the eastern part disappeared  slowly. At 21:45 the was only one or two bright arcs left, at 22:00 only one dimishing arc in the low north-west. At 22:15 even this last clouds was gone.
I hope, we were not the only ones who observed this phenomenon. May be there have been more NLC in the morning sky?
